Apple briefly revealed the complete details of the options available to Verizon iPhone customers.

The pricing details seem to have gone live after last night’s downtime on Apple’s Online Store but Apple has quickly removed the Verizon iPhone ordering pages.

Apple might have published the pages a little early as Verizon had announced that the CDMA iPhone 4 will be available for pre-orders from February 3rd to qualified Verizon Wireless customers, ahead of general availability from February 10th.

Anyways, if you are eagerly waiting to pre-order the Verizon iPhone then here are all the details.

The 16GB Verizon iPhone model will cost $199 while the 32GB Verizon iPhone model will cost $299 with a two-year contract. Customers also get the option to choose from various voice, data and messaging plans.

As you can see from the screenshot below, individual voice plans start at $39.99 per month for 450 minutes, $59.99 for 900 minutes and Nationwide Unlimited plan for $69.99 per month. Family SharePlans start at $69.99 for 700 minutes, $89.99 for 1400 minutes, $99.99 for 2000 minutes and Unlimited plan for $119.99 per month.

As we had reported yesterday, Verizon iPhone customers can opt for the unlimited data plan for $29.99 per month. Mobile hotspot and tethering plan is available for an extra $20 per month and comes with a 2GB data cap.

Messaging plans start at $5 for 250 messages, $10 for 500 messages and unlimited plan for $20 per month. Customers can also choose to pay as they use and will be billed at a per-message rate of 20 cents text and 25 cents per picture/video message. Family SharePlans messaging options start at $5 for 250 messages, $10 for 500 messages, $20 for 5000 messages and unlimited plan for $30 per month.

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Apple will build NFC (Near Field Communication) chips into the next generation iPhone and iPad. NFC is a short range wireless technology that enables devices to communicate with each other to perform simple transactions. This technology has been in use in countries like Japan and South Korea – but is yet to take off in the West. Just last month, Japanese mobile carrier Softbank introduced limited NFC functionality using an add-on accessory that sticks to the back of the iPhone for mobile payment.

Bloomberg is quoting Richard Doherty, director of consulting firm Envisioneering Group who has said that Apple would be embedding NFC chips in iPhone 5 and the iPad 2. Doherty in turn is citing engineers who are involved in this project for Apple. It remains to be seen how Apple implements this functionality in iOS. The current speculation is that this could potentially evolve into a payment system that would be tied to iTunes.

“Apple’s service may be able to tap into user information already on file, including credit-card numbers, iTunes gift-card balance and bank data”, says Richard Crone, financial industry adviser Crone Consulting LLC. Crone also adds that Apple would is looking at tapping in to the large online payments market in the US.

According to Doherty, Apple has already created a prototype of a payment terminal that small businesses could use to scan the NFC-enabled iPhones and iPads for payments.

Competition is always good for customers and looks like iPhone users are going to soon benefit from it with the launch of CDMA iPhone on Verizon’s network.

The Verizon iPhone 4 pricing details that were briefly revealed by Apple today confirmed that Verizon will be offering unlimited data plans to its iPhone customers.

Associated Press has just reported that the news of the unlimited data plans is putting a lot of pressure on AT&T and it is quietly giving some of its iPhone customers the option to switch to unlimited data plan to stop them from switching to Verizon.

AT&T is apparently allowing customers who were initially on the unlimited data plans but switched to the limited plans when AT&T started offering it back in June 2010 to switch back to the unlimited data plan.

Earlier, these customers were told they can’t switch back to the unlimited data plans once they had switched to the limited data plan.

Associated Press reports:

Verizon Wireless will start offering the iPhone on Feb. 10 with a draw that AT&T no longer offers to new subscribers: a plan with unlimited data usage. But The Associated Press has learned that some AT&T iPhone users on limited plans won't need to move to Verizon for unlimited data.In an unadvertised loophole, AT&T Inc. has allowed subscribers who have had an unlimited data plan in the past to switch back. That includes anyone who had an iPhone before June, when the limited plans took effect.

So now you know what to do if you plan to stick with AT&T but want the unlimited data plan. We think instead of doing this secretly, AT&T should announce the unlimited data plans for its iPhone customers to avoid losing customer who won't even bother negotiating with AT&T's customer service and will simply switch to Verizon.

I think that AT&T is going to have to do a little more than offer the unlimited plan again to keep people from jumping ship. Perhaps undercutting Verizon’s data plans a bit and making tethering/hotspot cheaper to use and not charge for extra data… after all, why do we need to pay for data several times. Let us have it and use it as we see fit…

AT&T is NEVER the leader in price cuts. As a matter of fact at MOST they’ll follow suit. If verizon says $20 they might go $20 but never lower. Lessin’ T-Mobile does. Like with the 4g and everything else.

Yes, confirmed! My brother-in-law ordered online yesterday, even have additional 28% discount off $30 unlimited data. But when he called in to upgrade his expired contract (was on iphone 2G, $20 unlimited data plan), the rep said there is no more unlimited data plan, so I guess, you need to either order online or tell them you going to jump to Verizon.

You should not have to do that. They are going to try to get you to switch plans but all you need to do it tell them that you want to keep things as they are. That is what I did when I got mine even though they tried like hell to tell me otherwise

well ijus upgrade my wife contract and she had an iphone 4 but now she have a Blackberry Torch i didnt have to change her data plan and fact they told me it will not change unless she drop below a smartphone.

So what if you have the (total scam) tethering plan? Since you HAD to switch to one of the capped plans to be able to use tethering. Not that I actually use it since the whole plan is a scam anyway…

Well apparently its an extra $20 on top of whatever the data plan was. I have the iphone plan that was 30 data+multimedia unlimited = $50 for data. That doesn’t even include voice mins yet LMAO.

Apparently there is a method to use an iPhone 2G to get unlimited data on your new line/account then switch out the sim card or cut it down to fit the iP4.

Screw ATT. If they wanted (cared) about their customers they woul’ve offered this long ago. This proves that ATT is run by greedy gnomes that just care about high profits rather than building a relationship with their customers for long-term. I’m glad ATT’s reign over the iphone is over. I myself can’t wait to hop over to Verizon and forget about the nightmare that is ATT.

Success!!!!

Waited on hold for about 30 minutes while the operator discussed it with her supervisor. When she came back on the line she said the supervisor said it could not be done. Then I asked her why this was all over the news and indicated I’d be going with Verizon so she went to another supervisor who finally approved it. If you want this plan back, be persistent.

Just to clarify, If I had the unlimited data plan before I down graded and now I wanted it back, will I have to pay extra to switch over to the unlimited plan or its a free upgrade since Verizon is giving is offering the unlimited plan?

I don’t think it will stop people from going to Verizon especially if they have bad network coverage…as many people are just frustrated with AT&T
they should concentrate on making their network better and not on things like this…

JD power and Associates ranked ATT’s customer service the poorest among all for a reason. Even as of today, they’re living up to that reputation. I’m dumping them ASAP.

I have 2 iphone 4G lines (one is my daughters) I had switched mine to the 2gig in November and left hers as the unlimited. I just called to have them switched so I have the unlimited and she the 2gig and they did it for me. Took about 20 minutes on the phone but no big hassle.
